Meeting of the Four Corners Rife and Pistol Club 4/27/2021
The meeting was brought to order by President Mike Upchurch @ 6:30 with the Pledge of Allegiance
There were 12 members present that introduced themselves.
Secretary Jenn Reynolds read the February minutes which were motioned and passed.
Treasurer Anita Mayhew presented the treasurer’s report which was motioned and passed. The ending balance for the month of March is $94878.07
Call for volunteers to help with Indoor Range Clean-up
- Weed Spraying

Mike Upchurch – wants to help people become safer
- Propose mandatory safety classes for all new members
- Propose an online test that membership has to pass?
- Roger Lawrence sought clarification on if membership gets key before or after the safety test – the decision is after
- Look at NRA programs to find video and reading materials
- Brought up that just because people can pass the test, doesn’t mean they will practice safety while at the range – need a way to enforce
- Check out law enforcement training (online)
- Roger brought up that when people see something unsafe, they don’t always feel comfortable saying anything about it
- The question was proposed if it should be a one and done or if it needs to be annual

Gun Show Results
- 64 Vendors
- 154 Tables
- Profit of $9075.00 as of 4/27/2021
- 3 vendors needed to cancel
- Decided that it would be in the best interest for the show to maintain an annual show as opposed to a bi-annual show. An August show would conflict with many shows in the area.
- Vendor issues were discussed
- Suggested to drop Sunday and extend hours on Friday.
Jr. Shooters
- Raffle profited $2000
- Mike Rodri Winner
- We will have Jr. Shooters wearing jackets with patches next year
- Gayel suggested using some of Gun Show profits to help pay for jackets to keep out of pocket costs for Jr. Shooters at a minimum
Outdoor Range
- Colorado Land Management – raising the rent on the outdoor range – now $820 annually will increase apx. 10x
- They approved any improvements we wanted to make with a heads up
- Lease is for recreational use – money used to pay for local schools
- Only use 10 acres of 205 leased
- Leasing only what we’re using was discussed
- Negotiated lease for additional property – so that we have a buffer zone.
- BEST program. Control by the legislature – pricing.
- Contact state senator/congressional member were discussed
- Start with the state legislature.

Call for Crack Shot Submissions
- Looking for articles that focus on gun safety, history of the club, Interest pieces
Lipstick tactical – was approved for outdoor range use in June – the event was canceled
Joe Butterfield was given permission to keep Indoor Range Key
Suggested to have Indoor Range Use sessions during the summer – Will vote on at May’s meeting
June Women at the Range Workshop is full with 24 ladies
$325 approved for Jr. Shooters for a toolbox
