Mike Upchurch – wants to help people become safer

  • Propose mandatory safety classes for all new members
  • Propose an online test that membership has to pass?
  • Roger Lawrence sought clarification on if membership gets key before or after the safety test – the decision is after
  • Look at NRA programs to find video and reading materials
  • Brought up that just because people can pass the test, doesn’t mean they will practice safety while at the range – need a way to enforce
  • Check out law enforcement training (online)
  • Roger brought up that when people see something unsafe, they don’t always feel comfortable saying anything about it
  • The question was proposed if it should be a one and done or if it needs to be annual

Gun Show Results

  • 64 Vendors
  • 154 Tables
  • Profit of $9075.00 as of 4/27/2021

      • BEST program. Control by the legislature – pricing.
