Meeting of the Four Corners Pistol Rifle Club 7/28/2020
The Meeting was brought to order by President Joe Butterfield @ 6:29 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were 19 members present which introduced themselves.

Anita presented the treasurer’s report which was motioned and passed. Ending club balance for the month of July 2020 is $82,107.84

Old Business
- Gun Show: August 14,15,16
- Gayel Alexander reported that we currently have 83 vendor tables and 94 tables total. Only 6 of our original vendors are unable to make it due to conflicting gun shows. We have vendors from Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, and Arizona.
- Still waiting on insurance finalization – the total price decreased from last year.
- Sheriff Posse’s coverage is still being worked on
- Banner on Main St. Cortez will be up on Monday 8/3/2020
- Flyers will be going up in Farmington NM and Durango CO
- Will be ordering more armbands
- Masks will be recommended but not required
- There was a discussion about trying to get food trucks to set up outside of the arena building to keep attendees at the fairgrounds and be more convenient for vendors.
- Temperatures will be taken every time attendees enter the building
- Need volunteers for set up and the gun show.
- Mike – Nothing to report
- Membership – Currently have 381 members
- Indoor Range – Jim
- Nothing new to report
- Outdoor Range – John for Chuck
- All of the new metal targets stands are finished and have been delivered to the outdoor range
- 50 new sandbags are being made
- Gate lock broke. The spare lock was sent to the range and Kendrick at Gateway Lock is trying to fix the broken lock.
- Not a lot of shotgun activity – last shotgun vandalism was done at the rimfire range.
- Jr. Shooters – Norm
- Starting a month early so that they can compete in a competition in 2020 to use already purchased trophies.
- Shooters will shoot at their individual ranges and targets will be taken and scored at a central location.
- Looking to add 4 more shooters
- Raffling rifle off at the gun show
- Needs $110 to build new sandbags.
- Loaned 2 rifles out that have been returned.
- Starting a month early so that they can compete in a competition in 2020 to use already purchased trophies.

New Business
- RSO class Aug 1 $50 instead of $150.
- August meeting/picnic on 8/24/2020 @ 5:30
- Kelly Ellis will be hosting at the Outdoor Range
- Great recruitment tool
- There will be a sheet cake, other desserts are encouraged
- Please Text Kelly at 970-739-8886 with an order of steak or chicken
- Do we want to publicize activities that are not club related – and how?
- Add a page on the website or in the Crackshot about supporting area activities
- Good PR and community building
- Special edition of the Crackshot
- Come up with a list of events and discuss them at the September meeting.
- Should we add Classified ads in the Crackshot for professional publications
- Kelly Ellis offered to review submissions
- Discussed the grey area in by-laws between merchandise and self-promotion
- Member brought up the idea of a reference source for hobby shooters to learn more about the sport, techniques and reloading.
- Leaving idea open and will discuss more
